Maryanne Golsan
Maryanne Golsan is partner at Golsan, Ziff & Ziff. Since being admitted to the California Bar in 1993, she has devoted her practice exclusively to the domain of family law, becoming a Certified Family Law Specialist in 1999. Ms. Golsan has more than fifteen years of experience in working on cases ranging from mediated settlements to the most highly conflicted, litigated international family law matters. From each of her many clients, Ms. Golsan has learned lessons in life as well as in the law. To this experience she adds her unique background and abilities. Coming to the study of law after years of traveling and living in different parts of the world and working in many different non-legal areas, Ms. Golsan brings personal experience of growth through change as well as a sensitivity to cross-cultural issues to her practice. Born in Atlanta Georgia in 1951 Ms. Golsan grew up on the East Coast and in France. As a young adult she moved to France where she studied, taught, did translations and eventually married into a French family. After returning to live in the US, she moved to Los Angeles where, on a jury duty assignment, she decided on a career in the law and returned to school where she received several honors, including in community property, and in her practice has been recognized for her work, including for obtaining the return of abducted children. In keeping with her diverse background Ms. Golsan maintains ongoing contact with the European family law community. For the last fifteen years, she has had the pleasure of working with a variety of international, interstate and local cases, clients, judges, experts and colleagues from the supportive and congenial atmosphere of a small family law firm in Los Angeles.
